The Studio Voltaire Intern programme is designed to provide in-depth training for candidates interested in arts production and management. The position is ideal for a recent graduate or final year arts student who is interested in gallery operations and non-profit arts organisations.
The Intern will work with the Director, General Manager, and Programme Assistant contributing to the day-to-day running of the gallery and programme of events and exhibitions. The position will involve working on office administration, gallery management, archiving, invigilation, installation and assisting with off-site events on and off-site.
Essential skills required for the post include: administration and MAC proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication, fluency in English and a contemporary art background. Successful candidates will be pro-active with good team skills. They will provide evidence of reliability and a desire to expand their knowledge and passion for the arts.
Conditions of the programme:
Successful candidates will be required to work three days a week, including Saturdays during exhibition time. The position runs for a four-month period. Although the position is a voluntary position, travel (within London) and lunch expenses will be covered and Saturday invigilation work is paid £40 per day.
