Talbot Gallery Studios (Dublin) strives to support artists through the provision of exhibition opportunities and affordable studio spaces. The gallery aims to instigate vibrant artistic practice, to persuade and facilitate inspiration, and to act as a public art resource centre. The space consists of an exhibition area and six studios and benefits from its city centre location.
Talbot Gallery & Studios is currently welcoming submissions for its 2014 exhibition programme. Diversity of art practice is welcome. Therefore, proposals are invited from artists who work in every medium. Elaine Grainger, Gallery Director, will select the successful applicants from proposals submitted to the Talbot Gallery that meet the required criteria.
Applicants can submit proposals for the following:
-Solo Exhibition – an opportunity for individuals wishing to present a cohesive body of work, which enables the artist to push the boundaries of their practice.
-Artist Initiative Project – this allows an artist or group of artists to utilise the gallery space for a fee outside of the programme of scheduled exhibitions.
-Group Project Selection- artists work may be selected to be part of a curated group project.
Successful applicants will exhibit within a lively calendar of events that run alongside the gallery’s exhibition programme. This coming year, we will continue our exciting event line-up which will include the Most promising Graduate Award 2014, this will feature an show by 2013 recipient Sinead Kennedy. The award ceremony will be preceded by a group show from the shortlisted graduates from the MPGA.The Talbot Gallery also participates in First Thursdays Dublin and Culture Night and welcomes guided tours of selected exhibitions by Art for Art Sake, led by Jennette Donnelly.The gallery hosts artist led talks/conversations and gallery walkthrough for the public and invited audiences
