HIT Gallery - Call for Exhibition Proposals

HIT Gallery was created out of initiative of non-profit organization KARTELL in 2003. During its existence, it has been fulfilling the function of an open forum- a platform enabling young and emerging artist to realize their projects and present their works in front of a wider public. Activities of the gallery allow confrontation of professional and amateur public with actual trends in contemporary visual art. Our aim is to dynamize local art scene and incite intercultural and international exchange and motivating creation of the new projects. Main goal is to widen a consciousness of contemporary art in Slovakia and surrounding countries, cultural exchange, creation of a platform for a discussion about various types of demonstration of contemporary art in central- European context and realization of projects in cooperation with wider art and theoretical circles with generational overlaps. The target group of the gallery is the professional and amateur public.
Main activities of HIT Gallery are:
- realization of exhibitions of Slovak artist from young and emerging generation (presenting solo activities, monographic and group exhibitions)
- realization of exhibitions of foreign visual artist (exchange projects, hosting artists)
- mapping of actual trends in visual art, reflection of the newest art and theoretical strategies in Slovakia and surrounding countries- confrontation of the Slovak art scene with Czech, Polish, Hungarian and Austrian art.
