MANDATE :
As part of its 2009-10 programming, Québec City artist-run centre l’Œil de Poisson is offering to all artists, the chance to present his or her work in its main gallery following an in-house production residency.
The residency will take place over a three-months period in the centre’s workshops.
CONTEXT :
The residency is designed for artists who require the use of our wood and/or metal shops for the entire three-months period in order to realize an installation or sculptural or multidisciplinary work that incorporates materials and techniques that can only be handled in the shops.
The artist chosen for the residency will be provided with accommodations and a per diem for the entire period : from October 26th 2009 to January 18th, 2010.
The exhibition that follows the three-months residency will be part of l’Œil de Poisson’s programming for its main gallery. The exhibition will take place from January 16th to February 15th, 2010.
While developing the project, the artist will have access to all the equipment contained in the wood and metal shops : a vast common space where many artists from the Québec City region work under the guidance of professional technicians.

THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A PORTFOLIO IS APRIL 1ST, 2009

THE PORTFOLIO MUST CONTAIN :
• A resume (maximum of 2 pages).
• A letter of intention (maximum of 1 page).
• Visual documentation on digital support (CD or DVD). Please limit the number of projects presented to a maximum of 15 images, numbered from 01 to 015, and ensure that the images appear from the outset. Please equally ensure that the documents are light (images : maximum 1024 X 768 pixels, JPEG at 72dpi ; video : maximum of 10 minutes). Please do not use stickers on CD and DVD.
• 5 prints ( bw, color, letters or A4).
• An artist statement (500 words maximum).
• A text describing your residency-exhibition project (1250 words maximum).
• A press or media portfolio (maximum 5 pages).
