Wall House Foundation, The Netherlands : International Call
ARTIST AND ARCHITECT IN RESIDENCE
Deadlines for applications are June 1 and November 1 each year
The Wall House foundation offers two periods of residence for emerging artists and architects each year: from April until June and from October until December. The residency is the Wall House itself, the iconic house designed by John Hejduk, which has its own studio space.
How to apply
If you are an emerging artist or architect with a specific interest in themes connected with designed space, particularly with the poetics of designed space, you may apply for a period of residence.
Applications need to contain at least a written proposal of what you plan to work at during the period of residence, and a complete resume (Curriculum Vitae) of yourself, including visual references of your work. This resume should contain an overview of your work, your education, publications, exhibitions, built work, et cetera. The proposal should be approximately 500 words, in English, and should deal with any form of research on the poetics of designed space (in the broadest sense of the words). The visual references can either be sent in as pdf or jpg.
The residency period lasts a maximum of 3 months. Part of the period of residence will consist of a (any) form of co-operation with other architects, artists or institutions (eg. by giving lectures, master classes or starting a joint project) in Groningen.
The residency period will be concluded with a presentation of your work. Residents will receive a monthly allowance.
