Open call for video submissions
Deadline: February 28, 2010
Folie/Culture is offering the possibility to whomever — recognized artists or not, members, family and friends or workers in the social sphere— to involve themselves in an experiment that will call for original reflection in the production of a one-minute video.
For the 2010 edition, the theme is the “Loser.” The theme of the loser examines the question of the social conception of success. In a world where this invariably means the accumulation of wealth and where economic discourse dominates all discourse, those who do not fit into the mould, such as the mad, the poor and the marginalized are considered as the super losers of a system that has no pity for those who have “failed” their lives. Well, what if the loser was just the extreme edge of freedom?
The selected minutes will be shown in Québec City at a special evening during 2010 in a public space.
To participate, you must produce a video — fiction, documentary, art video— in a single sequence of an uninterrupted minute.
