Open to makers whose main material is wood and having completed a recognised programme of study/training in a relevant subject since 2004. Comprising of a two-week course of study at Penland during the summer of 2015, accommodation and meals, and the cost of air travel between the UK and USA. Courses typically consist of demonstrations, lectures, and tutorials centred on workshop practice. The course you choose does not need to be wood related.
The selection panel will be looking for the applicant who they feel will benefit most from the fellowship. They will take into account how the successful applicant might apply the experience to how they work in the future, and consider what the applicant might bring to the ongoing series of annual fellowships.
Please submit by post, hard copy of
1) Your CV, not exceeding 1 side of A4.
2) A CD containing six images of your work saved as jpegs or tiffs. Please submit two folders of matching images on the disc – one folder containing a high resolution set, and the other a low resolution set.
3) A document/contact sheet showing thumbnails of the images labelled with your name, the title of the piece, overall dimensions, and the date realised.
4) A statement of no more than 300 words outlining your current practice and telling us why a period of study at Penland would benefit you and your work. We would also like to know what you and your work might bring to this opportunity.

Shortlisting will take place in November and successful applicants will be asked to come to an interview at the Crafts Council in London on December 4th 2014.
