Unselected exhibition, which has led the field in 'hang the lot' aesthetics since 1984. Hundreds of small works at attractive prices, the legendary Cafe Gallery Open Exhibition, representing all artists, consolidates its position as the Open Exhibition!
14 November to 2 December 2012, Wednesday – Sunday from 11am – 4pm.
Preview: Sunday, 11 November 2012 from 3 – 5pm.
Submission of works: Saturday, 3 and Sunday, 4 November from 11am to 4pm.
Most importantly, there are no advance application forms. Works must be delivered directly to Cafe Gallery. Another person can deliver your work provided that they have your written permission for the works to be entered and they have the correct information to complete the Entry Form (Artist's name, address, Title(s) of the work, number of copies if it is an edition, artist's contact details, sale price inclusive of 33% gallery commission. Entry fees can only be paid in cash or by cheque. Artists may choose to submit either two-dimensional works or a single three-dimensional work or video works on a single TV/DVD combo unit.
Up to 3 two-dimensional works can be submitted. Two-dimensional work must be no larger than 635 mm (25 inches) in width, length or depth (including frame). Works must be ready to hang with wire or mirror plates (we cannot accept clip frames). In keeping with the size limit, works from an individual artist will not be hung together. This means that works submitted as diptychs, triptychs, etc will not be hung together.
One three-dimensional work can be submitted. Three-dimensional work must be no larger than 635mm (25 inches) in width, length or depth (including plinth if supplied).
Video works must be supplied looped (this means that the DVD must be programmed to automatically loop without relying on the loop feature of the DVD player) with a 14 inch combo unit (14 inch TV with built in DVD player). Only ONE combo unit can be supplied by each artist. The limit of 3 works still pertains (i.e A maximum of three works in video can be looped onto one tape).
Each work submitted must be labelled with Name, Address, Title, Date, E-mail address, contact telephone number and Price (inclusive of 33% gallery commission).
Every year hundreds of artworks are submitted to the Open Exhibition and this involves considerable handling of a large number of artworks. Although CGP London will take all reasonable care handling works in all circumstances, submitting artists should be aware that it is possible that occasional damage to works may occur. CGP London shall have no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, destruction, deterioration or wear, including damage to frames, caused to a work submitted to the Open Exhibition.
The submission fees must be paid at the time of submission by cash or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to “The Bermondsey Artists’ Group”.
FULL PRICE: £6 for one work, £12 for two works, £18 for three works.
CONCESSIONARY PRICE: Unwaged, full time students, over 65’s and members of the Friends of CGP London Scheme: £5.00 for one work, £10 for two works, £15 for three works. Proof of status WILL be required to qualify for concessions.
PRICE FOR PAID-UP MEMBERS of the Bermondsey Artists’ Group: Up to 3 works can be submitted for total cost of £6.00.
Collection dates: 2, 3, 4 December 11am - 4pm. Please note that no works can be stored after these dates.
