MA Show - Installation Shot, Sept 2015 These works, somewhere between painting and installation, are based around the function of the diagram. The diagram is a way of translating informations and patterns, and of making connections between different states and kinds of information. It allows me to travel from art to life and back again. In my works, painting is a function, with space for the viewer to imagine moving, measuring, stepping back, or just resting... forms and functions travel, events and thoughts appear and reappear, the painting is a becoming'. |

For Painting, Mixed Media on canvas, 80 x 100 cm
'For Painting' suggests a dialogue between the sliding 4 shape and the arrow shape directed toward it. The yellow canvas supports the two objects as well as it reflects the damages of the time; already scratched by effect of sliding. Nothing is represented on the surface, its function is to be a sort of stage, or a sort of shelf. Here again the viewer is kept active, free to imagine moving, measuring, searching in the surface and make his own connection with what he knows, has seen or remembers. |
'Flight of the Storks' is an assemblage composed with two shaped canvases and a mirror.
The wooden structure is a frame to the work as well as creating the directive lines upon which the work is developed. On the left side of the assemblage there is a mirror cut in two which placed in the corner of the room suggests an end, and a recall to the original space from which the migration has started: the world. This work is the diagram of a journey - It is also the diagram of a fight between the enclosure of a grid and the desire to fly away from it. In some ways it is the diagram of my dilemmas in art and life.
It brings us back to the space from which we come |
