A project looking at perception of experience: how no two versions of the same experience will ever be the same. Already occurring events in Manchester were pinpointed (a fundraiser night @ Trof, Fallowfield / In The Loop screening @ The Cornerhouse / a family meal / a first date) and postcards distributed with the request that the participant tell their story of the event.
In order to show the beautiful stories I had collected, I created story boxes for each event. A stop-frame animation (viewable at libbyscarlett.co.uk) of them in action was then made and the soundtracks were created from a music making contraption made from glass bottles and a typewriter. Therefore, the stories themselves made the soundtrack: when they were typed, the narratives sang.
A fold-out (A5 to A3) was designed to explain the project and to be read alongside viewing the film.
