The Law of Attraction, 2015
Short statement: I find significance in unnoticed things. I make associations with disparate cultural elements. Think of plush talismans, pro wrestling melding with religion, fashion and Walt Whitman. Piloting a starship through culture I use multiple mediums, across disciplines to communicate the message.
Long statement: Much of my work practice employs contemporary and vintage images and objects that allow me to address the cultural noise that surrounds our everyday lives, asking imperative, yet often neglected, questions. Why do people live in a constant state of medium to high alert? What is it that is being masked? What is looked for via self-help and spiritual texts? Mining aspects of life and culture, I make visible things that might otherwise go unnoticed. With use of vibrant color and popular cultural icons, my work provides a portal into a Jungian-like unconscious, collective dream state. Hovering and vibrating, I subvert above and below states of mind, humorously yet poignantly provoking the viewer to consider answers. Formulating ideas I remain open to any and all media that are necessary to achieve the intended result.

My latest work continues to combine various elements of multi and mixed media. Oftentimes the exhibited work intentionally communicates across these media avenues. Projects often combine performance elements as well. In most cases the work will have a political component, but the intention is always for some level of being open ended.
Some of the work allows for the placement of my direct experiences within the narrative that is being built around the work. While I might directly reference myself, etc., I often simply position my image as part of the ongoing cast of characters. The character High Octane allows for this, while position the performative element as an alter ego of sorts.
