JOHANNES VOGT GALLERY focuses on drawing attention to the complex artistic and cultural ties that bind New York to both Europe and Latin America. The gallery program seeks to challenge mid-career as well as up-and-coming artists of diverse backgrounds to create new visual and conceptual vocabularies to reinvigorate these bonds. The gallery puts an emphasis on curated shows to further artistic discussion and serves as a venue for performance art.

German-born JOHANNES VOGT received his M.A. in art history from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. Previous to his move to New York he worked in curatorial positions for Munich’s contemporary art museum, Pinakothek der Moderne, 2005-2009. He is co-founder of non-profit organization FUTURA_ART.com and in 2009 he established an off-space gallery in the heart of Munich featuring a series of curated group shows. Vogt co-authored the monograph Dan Flavin: Icons and published various texts on artists such as Walker Evans, Richard Tuttle or Lawrence Weiner in exhibition catalogs. He has also occasionally contributed art critical texts. Vogt’s PhD dissertation deals with the work of Donald Judd and Dan Flavin.

Colombian-born FABIAN BERNAL began his career working as a graphic designer for advertising agencies such as DDB Needham, Young&Rubicon and BBDO in Bogotà, Colombia. In 2004, Bernal began pursuing an M.A. degree in interior design at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. In 2006, Bernal opened Meat Market Gallery in the heart of DC's burgeoning art scene focusing on local and internationally acclaimed artists, gaining exhibition, primary market and art fair experience . Bernal founded DC Performance Week in 2007 and DC Design Week in 2009.
