ABOUT MANIFEST
Founded in May of 2004, Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization headquartered in the urban neighborhood of East Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio. The elegant street level exhibition space is minutes away from downtown Cincinnati, and the numerous academic institutions of higher learning in the region. It is also within easy walking distance of a diversely populated historic neighborhood with residents from all walks of life. The galleries are free and open to the public five hours a day, five days a week, presenting works by students and professionals from around the world. The Manifest Drawing Center Studio is located in the nearby Walnut Hills Essex Studios Complex.

Manifest is supported by grants and public donations and has the goal to support student professionalism, integrate the arts into the urban residential community and raise the bar on artistic standards. The mission also includes the exploration of the relationship between art and design, as well as the ongoing support and display of drawing in all its various forms.

In fall of 2009 Manifest expanded its exhibition space by 40% with the addition of the newly renovated Parallel Space. The new space will allow Manifest to exhibit more works by more artists throughout the year, and to program more solo and artist-project based exhibits in future seasons.

Manifest stands for the quality presentation, experience, and documentation of the visual arts, engaging students, professionals, and the public from around the world through accessible world-class exhibits, studio programs, and publications.

One of Manifest's strengths is its small size and firm belief that small things can have a big impact. However, a consistent public request has been for more. More art, more artists, more space?more of the good thing that Manifest has been for the past nine years.

Earlier this year the final piece of a very complex puzzle fell into place which made possible the next step in a long-planned facility expansion. Over the course of about five months Manifest's board of directors and staff worked to raise enough funds to make an expansion by 66% a reality. This effort resulted in over $60,000 being contributed by individuals and foundations to make the project happen.

We are happy to report today that it is nearly finished, and will debut to the public on November 8th with five galleries of paintings!

The Manifest Gallery Expansion will:
Double Manifest's impact on Woodburn Avenue and East Walnut Hills by way of the reopening and restoration of the storefront facade.
Allow for an increase in number of artists and works from near and far shown in exhibits throughout the year.
Enable the implementation of regional-specific exhibits, larger more expansive singular exhibits, and more solo exhibitions each season.
Improve our public reception space, and provide for a badly needed publication display area.
Dramatically improve visitor traffic flow during our popular opening receptions.
Provide appropriate space for the school groups who routinely visit Manifest on study trips.
