As of March 2009, Luciana Brito became the sole owner and director of the gallery, reassuring her commitment to contemporary art and emphasizing that Luciana Brito Galeria is firm on its orientation, backing up artistic production well beyond commercial aspects by promoting the autonomy of art making processes and their association with permanent institutional support. The establishment of partnerships with artists interested in developing projects to be featured in exhibitions and publications had become one of the most noticeable distinctions of the gallery. This work led to the conception of a partnership that is unquestionably linked to the broader context of professionalization of Brazilian art. To this end, the frequent attendance of the gallery at leading international art fairs played a fundamental role.

Luciana Brito Galeria currently represents 26 artists, both from Brazil and abroad, organizing an average of 10 exhibitions per year, all of them accompanied by bilingual catalogues which circulate through art fairs, schools, libraries and museums.

In an on-going effort to fulfill what can be considered its duties within the cultural scenario, the gallery offers courses and lectures related to the exhibitions presented.

The gallery’s specially designed space was remodeled and gained a new area where solo shows are developed alongside with the regular year-round program. This expansion not only boosted the enhancement of the gallery's work agenda that includes simultaneous exhibitions and collaborative associations in the field of art education, but it also allowed the increase in number of its represented artists.
