| About 5th Base 5th Base is an art gallery just off Brick Lane in London. As well as curating our own exhibitions of art and design, we offer London art gallery hire at very competitive rates and offer attractive discounts for students 5th Base began in May 2012 with a single show in a hired space in South London, our purpose being to exhibit and sell works directly on behalf of unrepresented artists. After our first show we decided to open our own gallery space so that we could hold our own exhibitions and allow other artists to rent it at an affordable rate. So in September 2012 we turned an old printing factory just off Brick Lane into a custom-converted professional gallery space. We continue to curate our own exhibitions and are always open to receive submissions. We exhibit a mix of paintings, collage, photography, sculpture, design, lighting and furniture, all directly on behalf of the artists. |
| 5th Base Film Nights We are always looking for short films to include in our 5th Base Film Nights, so please send us your submissions via email link. We welcome submissions from all over the world. Films must be no longer than 10 minutes and produced within the last three years. There are no submission or screening fees, we only ask that you bring a bottle to the screening night (if you can make it). Please send submissions to [email protected] along with a one-line descrption of what your film is about. We consider all types of short film; animation, documentary, experimental, comedy, etc etc... |
| Gallery Hire Hire 5th Base for your own exhibition or event
5th Base Gallery is the perfect place to host your own group or solo exhibition, right in the heart of East London.
Situated just off of Brick Lane in London's E1, the gallery has a 650 sq ft indoor exhibition area, comprising 28 meters of white wall hanging space, plus an outdoor covered courtyard perfect for private views and evening shows. Long white walls, track spotlighting system, plinths/benches, big entrance door, storage for packing materials, W/C. As well as basic hire, we also offer a complete range of other gallery services including invigilation, installation & take-down, catalogue writing and production and poster & flyer design. Please contact us for more info on pricing. Basic gallery hire is £700 per week or £150 a day. Student discounts available 5th Base is within easy walking distance from all of the following tube stations: Shoreditch High Street, Aldgate, Whitechapel, Aldgate East and Liverpool Street.
