FLIGHT Works About Velocity and Flight Main Gallery + Drawing Room Flight compels our imaginations and drives us to invention. It manifests in our mythology and exists at the center of some of our most important shared cultural experiences, from traveling via plane across the globe to watching a rocket leave our atmosphere. FLIGHT is a gallery exhibit bringing together a range of works exploring flight, flying, and velocity. All forms of art art affected by time and memory. In MEMORY PALACE, Manifest sets out to present an exhibition of diverse works which address, depict, or incorporate the themes of Memory, History, and Time. Its image has had an influence on art and design since the beginning of human artistry. The development of society is inseparable from our relationship to the natural world. SECRET GARDEN is an examination of what this relationship means to contemporary artists. Presenting works by: Ron Geibel Georgetown, Texas Lauren Lake Birmingham, Alabama Eileen MacArthur Arthur, Ontario Rachel Reisert Wyoming, Ohio John Sabraw Athens, Ohio Benjamin Shamback Mobile, Alabama Kathleen Taylor Santa Fe, New Mexico Alice Valenti Baltimore, Maryland -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPECIAL OPENING NIGHT EVENT CHASE PUBLIC AND MANIFEST PRESENT SHORT ORDER ART + POETRY The writers of Chase Public and the artists of the Manifest Drawing Center join creative forces to bring you SHORT ORDER ART + POETRY, a fun and free event happening for one night only at Manifest Gallery! During the opening reception, visitors are invited to sit with an artist and writer team to share their memories or their experiences of the exhibits to generate the creation of a poem and drawing. Visitors can then continue enjoying the exhibits, snacks, and the rest of the Walk on Woodburn before returning to Manifest to pickup their short order art and poems. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Meet the Manifest Artists In Residence! At every opening reception the MAR space and resident artists Marina Fridman and Samantha Haring will be receiving visits, discussion, and hosting a viewing of their recent and ongoing projects for their one-year Manifest residencies. Exhibit Runs Through February 19th GALLERY HOURS (free admission): Tuesday through Friday 12 – 7:00 p.m., Sat. 12 – 5:00 p.m. or by appointment - school groups welcome and encouraged.
