Philomene Pirecki / Frame, Fold, Fracture 18 April – 26 May 2013 Join us on Thursday 18 April from 6 – 8:30pm for the opening of Frame, Fold, Fracture a solo exhibition of new works by London-based artist Philomene Pirecki. Philomene Pirecki will use the exhibition as both a site of production and presentation, including works that arrive, leave, return, remain, accumulate, and reassemble during the show, in addition to using these works as material to generate subsequent work after the exhibition has finished. The exhibition will include an ongoing multi-channel projection of words gathered from the packaging of materials the artist uses in the studio, instances from a continuing series of photographs that are re photographed before and after each exhibition, wall installations of paintings, posters and photographs developed out of exaggerated interpretations of colour, and a group of carbon copy drawings. Pirecki's work often folds into and out of originals and copies, referencing or re-using previous works to realise multiple versions, varied forms of representation, working with their reproductions, and sometimes reconfiguring old work into a new ones. Philomene Pirecki was born in Jersey, Channel Islands. She completed her BA at Chelsea College of Art & Design and her MA at The Royal College of Art. She lives and works in London.
