Mary FitzGerald / Halflife Opening Reception – Thurs 26 Jan 6 – 8pm Exhibition will run until 03 March Green On Red Gallery are delighted to present Halflife an exhibition of new work by Mary FitzGerald. Halflife will consist of new video and sculptural work, it is a development of the themes explored in FitzGerald's last solo exhibition Afterlife at the Fenton Gallery, Cork in 2009. FitzGerald's recent work has been characterised as 'an attempt to convey vulnerability through images which are impermanent, transient and almost invisible'. Mary FitzGerald is an Irish artist who lives and works in Dublin and County Waterford. After graduating from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, she moved to Japan where she lived and exhibited between 1979 and 1981. Mary FitzGerald has held numerous solo exhibitions in Ireland, Europe and the USA and has participated in group exhibitions worldwide. She has represented Ireland at ROSC, L'Imaginaire Irlandais and the XVIII Bienal de Sao Paulo. She was elected a member of Aosdána in 1990. Halflife will run until 03 March, it will then be followed by a solo exhibition of new paintings by Paul Doran, opening 08 March.
