Max Sudhues Behausungen im Dschungel We are pleased to announce the first exhibition of Max Sudhues (born in 1977, M�nster, living in Berlin) in our gallery rooms. Balancing and measurement of spaces and environments, of human (and man-made) environments, inner and outer worlds, allegories of a nature, rapidly moving from poetic to threatening as well as the vague, hardly to describe area between dream and nightmare are the focus in the works of Max Sudhues. By using and often mixing ordinary items of everyday life and all available media kind of projecting light (from desk lamp to beamer) Max Sudhues creates in the tradition of �Collage� imaginary worlds, whose origins are visible but not always clear anymore. In the gallery rooms, in a parcour of installations, various projections, videoloops and combinations of materials Max Sudhues examines the realm between analogue and digital, light and shadow, outlines of the well known state of affairs with unknown backgrounds, the white noise of a tv-screen, branches and clouds � By the artist technically changed and hereby as regards to the content changing structures of things of everyday needs and volatile static. Every single work stands both for itself and connects to a bizarre, narrative and complex imaginary world. The title Behausungen im Dschungel which means dwellings in the jungle, correspond as a symbol to the setting out and expedition of the artist into the unidentified and off-beat area, also the hut assembled by ad lib findings will be a meagre place of sleep but under certain conditions it also will become a sensation of a place of protection. Max Sudhues recieves the award of supporting 2008 (GWK) by the association Westf�lische Kulturarbeit M�nster. On the occasion of the exhibit Pufferraum (in conjunction with Daniel Burkhardt) museum of art Bochum (18.10. � 16.11.2008) there will be appear a catalogue of print which forthcoming in our gallery, too. Max Sudhues Behausungen im Dschungel Wir freuen uns, die erste Ausstellung von Max Sudhues (geb. 1977 in M�nster, lebt in Berlin) in unseren Galerier�umen anzuk�ndigen. Das Ausloten von R�umen und Umgebungen, von menschlichen (und vom Menschen geschaffenen) Innen- und Au�enwelten, Allegorien einer sich blitzschnell vom poetischen ins bedrohliche wandelnden Natur sowie der vage, kaum zu beschreibende Bereich zwischen Traum und Alptraum stehen im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit von Max Sudhues. Durch den Gebrauch und die h�ufig installative Vermischung von Gegenst�nden des Alltags und aller ihm zur Verf�gung stehenden Mittel der Lichtprojektion (von der Schreibtischlampe bis zum Videobeamer) erzeugt Max Sudhues in der Tradition der Collage Bildwelten, deren Ursprung sichtbar, aber nicht mehr v�llig klar ist. In den R�umen der Galerie untersucht Max Sudhues in einem "Parcours" von Installationen, diversen Projektionen, Videoloops und Materialcollagen den Bereich zwischen Analog und Digital, Schatten und Licht, die Konturen altbekannter Dinge vor unbekanntem Hintergrund, das wei�e Rauschen des flackernden Fernsehers, Ge�st und Wolken - von ihm technisch ver�nderte und dadurch sich inhaltlich ver�ndernde Strukturen der Dinge des t�glichen Lebens und die Bewegung von Starrem. Die einzelnen Arbeiten stehen f�r sich und verkn�pfen sich doch zu einer vielschichtigen, erz�hlerischen und skurrilen Bild-Welt. Der Titel "Behausungen im Dschungel" bezieht sich als Sinnbild auf das Aufbrechen, die Expedition des K�nstlers in abwegiges, unbekanntes Terrain, und die aus Gefundenem improvisiert zusammengebaute H�tte, die karge Schlafstatt sein, aber unter Umst�nden auch als ein sch�tzender Palast empfunden werden kann. Max Sudhues erh�lt den diesj�hrigen GWK F�rderpreis 2008 der Gesellschaft f�r Westf�lische Kulturarbeit, M�nster. Anl�sslich der Preistr�gerausstellung "Pufferraum" (zusammen mit Daniel Burkhardt) im Kunstmuseum Bochum (18.10. - 16.11.2008) wird ein Katalog erscheinen, den Sie in K�rze auch �ber uns beziehen k�nnen. |
