Galerie | Anita Beckers | Frankfurt at LOOP Barcelona at Catalonia Ramblas Hotel | Room #10 May 8 - 10, 2008 *********** We will present the following artists: Zhenchen Liu "Under Construction" (2007) Zhenchen Liu`s film 'Under Construction ' deals with the phenomenon of gentrification exemplified by the violence of proceeding in the city of Shanghai and the paradox, but locical result of the ecological motivated demand for urban closeness. In the example of Shanghai city planners decided to pull down parts of Shanghai�s old town in order to regenerate the city. Every year reams of families are forced to leave their homes and move into buildings on the suburbia. Niklas Goldbach "Intruders" (2007) In his video, sculpture and print works Berlin based artist Niklas Goldbach addresses dystopic aspects of the human environment. His works are capturing a feeling of disorientation, highlighting subjective experiences of melancholy and the politically charged tensions between public and private spheres: the protagonists in his work INTRUDERS, armed with a private internal mission, mark their temporary terrains as though they were the first and last inhabitants of a thoroughly pre-arranged world.
