INMIGRANTAS. esa palabra no exist Del 26 de noviembre de 2011 al 11 de febrero de 2012 Inauguración: sábado 26 de noviembre de 2011 / 20:00 h Horario: de Martes a Sábado: de 17:30 h a 20:30 h Opening Hours: Tuesday to Saturday: 5:30-8:30 pm La Galería Fúcares presenta en su espacio de Almagro la exposición "Inmigrantas. esa palabra no existe”, un proyecto comisariado por Mira Bernabeu. Escribir algo sobre inmigración a esta alturas es difícil; difícil decir, gritar y denunciar todas y cada unas de las injusticias que sufre el inmigrante. En este país en el que vivimos (España) donde el inmigrante ya no quiere recordar que fue uno de ellos, los artistas contemporáneos continúan reflexionando sobre la situación del inmigrante que llega a España, pero pocos son los que reflexionan sobre el inmigrante español en el extranjero, bien en la actualidad o en el pasado tan reciente aun. Aunque una misma cosa nunca es exactamente igual si la observas en diferentes lugares; La situación del inmigrante se suele parecer allá donde quieras mirar; siempre parece ser una imagen triste y dramática, donde la víctima parece a la vez resignada y rabiosa con su situación. Quizás la culpa la tengan los medios de com unicación que alimentan constantemente nuestras mentes, para disfrute de nuestra superioridad y compasión. Muy pocas veces, salvo en esta ocasión, Vamos a poder ver lo contrario a esta cara dramática y prepotente. De ahí que en esta exposición haya decidido recopilar aquellos trabajos de artistas que reflexionando sobre todos estos conflictos nos muestran la otra cara de la moneda. Artistas que reflexionan tanto sobre la imagen que el propio inmigrante tiene de él mismo como sobre la imagen que tenemos los que no lo somos; sobre sus espacios de vivienda y reflexión, sus limitaciones espaciales y de actuación o las nuevas segundas generaciones de inmigrantes que por fin enriquecen este país. Solamente quiero agradecer a todos los artistas que participan en este pequeño proyecto que he titulado Inmigrantas, ya que sin ellos el inmigrante siempre aparecería representado de la misma manera y en el mismo contexto: trágico e indigno. Is a word that does not exist”, a project curate by Mira Bernabeu In this day in age to write something about immigration is difficult; difficult to speak up, to shout out all and each one of the injustices that are suffered by immigrants. In this country in witch we leave (Spain) immigrants do not want to remember that the two once were an immigrant. Much thought is been given by contemporary artist about the immigrants that come to Spain, but few give much thought to the Spanish immigrants overseas, whether its here now or in the still very present past. Not one thing is the same everywhere. It comes down to how they are observed in each individual place; Immigrants situations are alike every were you turn to look; the image seems sad, dramatised and were victory seems to be accompanied by resignation and bitter with the situation. Fault may lie in the media that feeds us and indulges are minds in are superiority and compassion. Few times but this one will we get to see t he opposite to this arrogant and dramatic face. Throw the recollection of works from artist that reflect and meditate on this subjects we can now see the on flip side. Artist that not only reflect on the image that we have of immigrants but on the image they have on themselves; Over there reflection and leaving spaces, there limitations in there surrounding and there resources and the enriching impact that second generations are having on this country. I would only like to thank all artist that have participated in this small endeavour that I have title Inmigrantas , without them immigrants would always be portrayed in the same undignified and tragic context.
