BEN ECHEVERRIA May 9 - June 15, 2015 Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Opening: Saturday, May 9th, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm A SECOND SERVICE Directions: Thank someone for being that one. Then while singing a song walk with that one to the center of the room and back again. Burn something. -Translated from Seneca by Jerome Rothenberg Diane Rosenstein is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Ben Echeverria. The artist works with a range of media including painting, ceramics, and slightly altered sourced objects and materials, conducting an ongoing inquiry into what is in front and what is behind, what is inside and what is out. Often these co-dependent relationships are highlighted, reversed, or confused. Small objects paired with works identifiable as paintings add possibilities for relation and a sense of both material and spatial experience. Ben Echeverria (b. 1980) has been included in recent exhibitions at 57w57Arts, Salon 94, 356 S. Mission Road and is currently pursuing an MA at USC Roski School of Art and Design. Echeverria lives and works in Los Angeles where he directs Reserve Ames.
