The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is proud to present our 13th Annual Art Auction and Exhibitions, a celebration of contemporary art and our largest annual fundraiser. Built for and by artists, the Bemis Center's international artist-in-residence program has supported over 600 artists since 1981. The auction directly benefits all of the Bemis Center’s programs and projects. Over 250 artists from throughout the world are participating in this cyclical fundraising event, through which artists support artists. We believe in the power of art and artists to transform and define our world. Our mission — to support exceptional talent — is more important now than ever. The Bemis Center’s programs support artists working at the forefront of contemporary culture and catalyze their work to engage and challenge the public. This year the Bemis Center celebrated its 30th anniversary with several important milestones. We built five new artist studios, expanded our residency program from 24 residents to 36 per year, and are completing renovation of a 13,000 square foot sculpture and fabrication facility. But these achievements are just the beginning. More than just a gala fundraiser, the 13th Annual Art Auction and four week Exhibitions continue the momentum of these capital projects, while providing a vast survey of current work from regional and international artists. The event illuminates the value of contemporary art and provides ideal opportunities for the public to directly engage and contribute to the continued vitality of artists working in Omaha. The auction exhibitions include nearly 400 works in all media and span 12,000 square feet of the Bemis Center’s first floor and Underground galleries. Auction Admission: $25 per member | $35 per non-member includes admission to both silent auctions: the underground auction on Thursday, October 13 and the Gala Art Auction Saturday, October 15.
