DORA GARCIA / Twice Told Tales with: ISABELLE CORNARO, CEAL FLOYER, AURELIEN FROMENT, RYAN GANDER, BENOIT MAIRE, FALKE PISANO, SIMONA DENICOLAI & IVO PROVOOST Elabor�e � partir d�une conversation avec Dora Garcia, �Twice Told Tales� (�Histoires cont�es deux fois�) rassemble des artistes qui appliquent des m�thodes de travail voisines, puisant leurs r�f�rences dans la litt�rature, le cin�ma, la philosophie ou l�art moderne. En d�calage avec leurs apparences minimales, les oeuvres pr�sent�es combinent diff�rents niveaux d�interpr�tation, � la fa�on des contes et des r�cits mythologiques. Ainsi, la narration devient un �l�ment constitutif de l�oeuvre, au m�me titre que son apparence plastique. �Twice Told Tales� was conceived after a discussion with Dora Garcia. It gathers artists who use similar work methods, as they draw references from literature, cinema, philosophy or modern art. In spite of their very minimal looks, the works in the show combine different levels of interpretations, just like tales and mythological stories. Narration is a constituent quality of the works, in the same way as their visual appearances. |
