VERNISSAGE/ OPENING : samedi 30 mai 2009 de 18h � 21h en pr�sence des artistes / Saturday May 30th, 2009 from 6 to 9 PM with the artists SHOW 1 (ground floor)_____________Eric White + Daniel Davidson : Galerie Magda Danysz - 78 rue Amelot - Paris Apr�s l'exposition Au Pays des Merveilles en 2005, la galerie Magda Danysz pr�sente les derniers travaux d'un des repr�sentant du fameux mouvement du pop-surr�alisme : Eric White. Cet artiste am�ricain dont le travail a �t� montr� dans de nombreuses expositions personnelles et de groupe, de Los Angeles � New York, a convi� Daniel Davidson � cet �v�nement. Ces artistes, travaillant aujourd'hui tous deux � Brooklyn, confrontent leurs peintures et leurs univers. After the Wonderland show in 05 at the gallery, Eric White is back at the Magda Danysz Gallery with his latest works and a surprise guest : Daniel Davidson, both of them are the best artists of the Brooklyn actual generation SHOW 2(first floor)_____________Jennifer Vasher Pr�sent�e pour la premi�re fois en France, Jennifer Vasher propose d'�tonnantes installations faite de milliers de cachets de m�dicaments. Ces installations faites de m�dicaments sont une r�flexion sur la perte et la survie. Les �uvres de Jennifer Vasher, Attention � l'abri que tu choisis ou encore Vers une autre belle ann�e, sont le reflet de notre soci�t� o� le pharmaceutique fait ployer beaucoup des enjeux de notre soci�t� contemporaine constate l'artiste. Tylenol Room - La salle de Parac�tamol (installation de 55 000 cachets r�alis�e � l'occasion de l'exposition) : Tylenol Room de Jennifer Burkley est une vaste installation dans une pi�ce avec un canap� et des guirlandes de cachets blancs cousus entre eux et qui pendent du plafond. L'installation est faite de plus de 550,000 cachets d'aspirines, chacun est trou� et enfil� comme s'il s'agissait de perles d'un collier. New sculptural works; Careful What Shelter You Choose, I Had Trouble In Getting To Solla Solu, (Where they never have troubles at least very few), and To Another Good Year consists of thousands of multicolored pills, caplets, and tablets. Everything from the banal (baby aspirin & kids cartoon supplements) to life saving pharmaceuticals, homeopathic medicines, and herbal supplements is included creating both delicate, elegant, shimmer forms; and strong, clunky, 'plastic' net forms.. The Tylenol Room Project (special installation for the show) : Jennifer Vasher's Tylenol Room is a large installation consisting of a canopied room hung with multiple garlands of strung white pills. Over 550,000 aspirin went into the creation of this piece, individually drilled and strung like a traditional pearl necklace. |
