�Canvas is the place� es el t�tulo de la segunda exposici�n individual de Rub�n Guerrero (Utrera, Sevilla, 1976) en la Galer�a Luis Adelantado, donde las cuestiones relacionadas con la imagen: su percepci�n, construcci�n, representaci�n e interpretaci�n siguen siendo elementos fundamentales de su obra.
Es notable la progresiva aproximaci�n hacia una representaci�n pict�rica de car�cter m�s referencial y figurativa, evidenciando el origen y proceso fotogr�fico del que parten.
Elige los motivos indistintamente de la iconograf�a medi�tica, el c�mic, la publicidad, la ilustraci�n, el dise�o, la fotograf�a o la televisi�n para emplearlos en un m�todo pict�rico caracterizado por una radical bidimensionalidad, atornilla cada plano de color encorsetando el m�s m�nimo gesto, pr�ximo en apariencia al hard edge aplica la pintura con rotunda opacidad dotando a la obra de una ilusoria solidez formal.
Con cada obra explora las m�ltiples lecturas de la imagen, oblig�ndonos a escudri�ar y reconectar las posibles interrelaciones a trav�s de ejercicios asociativos; dicotom�as visuales o alteraciones de las cualidades naturales de los objetos representados, subvirtiendo su sentido l�gico; y al mismo tiempo de forma m�s sutil y perversa parece como si en cada imagen se nos intentara desvelar la argucia y el artificio que la propia pintura esconde.
Artista perteneciente a la nueva generaci�n de pintores sevillanos, tras su incorporaci�n en 2005 a la Galer�a Luis Adelantado su trabajo ha sido presentado internacionalmente en: Shanghai, Roma, M�xico DF, Puerto Rico, Sao Paulo y Miami, tanto en exposiciones colectivas como en ferias de arte. Entre sus premios cabe destacar; Certamen Andaluz de Artes Pl�sticas de M�laga; Menci�n de Honor en el VI Premio ABC de Pintura y Fotograf�a, XLIII Certamen de Artes Pl�sticas Caja San Fernando, XXV Certamen Nacional de Arte Contempor�neo �Ciudad de Utrera�.

"Canvas is the place" is the title of Rub�n Guerrero�s (Utrera, Seville, 1976) second solo show at the Gallery Luis Adelantado, where the questions related to images: their perception, construction, representation and interpretation continue to be fundamental elements in his work.
Guerrero clearly shows a progressive approximation towards a pictorial representation of a more referential and figurative character, thus making visible the origin and photographic process that gave rise to it.
Guerrero chooses the motives indistinctively of the iconographic media, comics, publicity, illustration, design, photography or television, to employ them in a pictorial method, characterized by a radical one bi-dimensionality. He fastens each surface of color confining the most minimum gesture, in appearance next to hard edge applying the paint with flat opacity endowing the work with a illusionary formal solidity.
With each work Guerrero explores the multiple readings of an image, obliging us to examine and reconnect the possible interrelations through associative exercises; visual dichotomies or alterations of the natural qualities of the objects represented, subverting its logical sense; and at the same time in a way more subtle and perverse it seems as if in each image he is trying to reveal for us the sophistry and the artifice that the painting hides.
Artist belonging to the new generation of Sevillian painters, after his incorporation in 2005 to the gallery Luis Adelantado his work has been presented in Shanghai, Rome, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Sao Paulo and Miami in group shows as well as in art fairs.
