An exhibition of newly commissioned performances and artworks by Edwina Ashton, Jack Strange and Bedwyr Williams.

SHOW is the fourth Jerwood Encounters exhibition curated by Sarah Williams and seeks to examine the integral role that performance plays within an artist�s practice and its subsequent representation in an exhibition context. SHOW will consist of live performances, experiments in performance documentation and works by each of the artists including; props, sculpture, drawings, collage and film.

The newly commissioned performance works will take place on the opening night and throughout the exhibition. The full performance and event programme will be announced on the JVA website.

Jerwood Encounters provide emerging artists with new exhibition opportunities and each of the artists has been awarded a �1500 commissioning fee to support the development and presentation of new work.

Jerwood Encounters support collaborative and experimental new commissions within the Jerwood Visual Arts programme. Previous Jerwood Encounters exhibitions curated by Sarah Williams include: An Experiment in Collaboration (2008), Laboratory (2009) and Locate (2010).

The exhibition will be accompanied by an essay by Catherine Wood, Curator of Contemporary Art and Performance at Tate Modern.

Jerwood Visual Arts will host a series of Monday evening events to accompany the exhibition on 28 March and 4 April 2011. Events are free but must be booked in�advance.�For more information contact Jerwood Visual Arts, or�check the new Jerwood Visual Arts website:

Jerwood Encounters are one-off curated exhibitions, which provide artists and artist curators with new exhibition opportunities and the chance to explore the issues and territories in the borderlands between the main disciplinary fields of the Jerwood Visual Arts programme. Previous exhibitions in the Encounters series have included Space to Draw (17 January � 10 February 2008), Invisible Cities (22 January � 22 February 2009), Passing thoughts and making plans (4 November � 13 December 2009), Inscription: drawing, making, thinking (13 January � 21 February 2010), For the sake of the image (3 March � 1 April 2010) and This must be the place (17 November � 12 December).

The Jerwood Charitable Foundation is dedicated to imaginative and responsible revenue funding of the arts, supporting emerging artists to develop and grow at important stages in their careers. The aim of their funding is to allow artists and arts organisations to thrive; to continue to develop their skills, imagination and creativity with integrity. Edwina Ashton b. 1965 in London, studied at Goldsmiths College University of London (1993 � 1996) lives and works in London.
