It is with great pleasure that the gallery Guy Bärtschi invites yo to its forthcoming exhibition Andrea Mastrovito, The Modern Prometheus, the exhibition will be held from the 8th of Mai to the 22nd of January 2012 at 43, route des Jeunes, Allée G, 1227 Geneva / Acacias. The gallery is very pleased to present you for the first time and simultaneously with the gallery Analix Forever – 2 rue de Hesse, 1204 Geneva – the work of the Italian artist, Andrea Mastrovito, known for his installations, drawings and collages, the first modes of his artistic expression. In this exhibition, the artist reinterprets the famous story of Mary Shelley, Frankenstein, originally subtitled The Modern Prometheus, and whose writing probably began in the beautiful Geneva. A series of charcoal drawings, two videos and an edition of Frankenstein, drawn to one hundred copies, which emerges directly from a reconstitution of the book by the artist on the basis of pages from sixty various editions of novel, collected for two years, will be presented. Through this exhibition, Andrea Mastrovito talks about the man and his desire to find life through death.
