Sandra Ackermann I look inside you 10.15.2010 - 11.27.2010 Sound composition: Luciana Bass and Russel Callow. Just as in her last solo exhibition "The reality is not the truth", the new works of Sandra Ackermann deal with the demarcation between the outer and the inner reality and the attempt to point out precisely this demarcation. The particular theme of the paintings of the new work cycle entitled "I look inside you" is the concept of being trapped in a reality, which cannot be understood - a world in which finding one's way seems impossible. The title of the exhibition "I look inside you" is inspired by a sound composition recorded in London by the artists Luciana Bass and Russell Callow. The musical piece is characterized by an improvised E guitar and a voice repeating the phrase "I look inside you for the things which are missing in my life". According to Sandra Ackermann, "This phrase captured me due to its clear simplicity and deep truth. It identifies, in a very poetic manner, an essential motivation for interpersonal as well as societal relationships".
