per form March 6 - April 23, 2010 Opening: Friday, March 5, 2010, 6-8pm Leonor Antunes Jay Chung & Q Takeki Maeda Josef Dabernig Terry Fox Joseph Grigely Niele Toroni (scroll down for english version) Die Gruppenausstellung per form thematisiert die Grenzen und �berschneidungen von Handlung und Form. Sie richtet die Aufmerksamkeit auf performative Aspekte von abstrakten oder formalen Werken einerseits und auf filmische Arbeiten, in denen das Handeln zur reinen Form wird, andererseits. Die Arbeiten in der Ausstellung fragen nach den k�nstlerischen M�glichkeiten, einen performativen Moment darzustellen, zu repr�sentieren oder zu formalisieren. Die Ausstellung sucht nicht nach den �hnlichkeiten zwischen den Werken. Die teilnehmenden K�nstlerInnen bedienen sich sehr unterschiedlicher Arbeitsweisen und verfolgen noch unterschiedlichere Ziele. per form versteht sich vielmehr als gedanklicher Anstoss und als M�glichkeit, die vielf�ltigen Ans�tze einer Synthese von formalen und performativen Momenten aufzeigen. ___ The group exhibition per form makes thematic the borders and cross-overs between action and form. It draws attention to the performative aspects of abstract and formal works and also highlights action that becomes pure form in filmic works. The exhibited artworks are concerned with the artistic means that can represent or formalise a performative moment. Not seeking to illustrate commonalities among the works, the participating artists utilise very different working methods and moreover have different artistic goals, the topic of per form is to provoke a mental impulse/impetus and furthermore provide a platform to display the various models of a synthesis of the formal and performative moments in art. |
