Galeria Fortes Vila�a 30.05.2009 | 04.07.2009 Janaina Tsch�pe [scroll down for English] A Fortes Vila�a tem o prazer de anunciar a terceira exposi��o individual de Janaina Tsch�pe, desta vez, no Galp�o. Tsch�pe traz para o Brasil destaques de sua produ��o mais recente, entre pinturas, aquarelas, desenhos, fotografias da s�rie Botanica e um v�deo da s�rie Eclipse, todos in�ditos. Na gigantesca tela Wilt � com seis metros de extens�o e tr�s de altura - e nas grandes aquarelas, Tsch�pe flerta com a abstra��o e a paisagem. As formas, cheias de dobras e reentr�ncias, se expandem em tra�ados org�nicos, revelando um equil�brio preciso entre a gestualidade e o detalhe. A artista cria ambientes molhados, que se assemelham a lugares chuvosos, como �n�voa na floresta�. Seguindo uma paleta de tons roxos, verdes, rosas e azuis, as obras parecem cenas de uma mesmo local, em diferentes fases do dia. A paisagem � um tema abordado em todas as obras da exposi��o: de forma mais distanciada nas pinturas e aquarelas e de maneira mais intimista - como pequenos �close-ups� - nos desenhos e nas fotografias. Os desenhos de l�pis de cor s�o feitos com tra�ado leve e convidam o espectador a se aproximar, para que este possa perceber seus m�nimos detalhes e delicadas rela��es crom�ticas. Tsch�pe aponta que, na pintura, tem �a liberdade para prolongar as formas para onde desejar e com a fotografia, tenta repetir essa experi�ncia�. Nas fotografias da s�rie Botanica, a artista utiliza cen�rios naturais reais e neles acrescenta detalhes inventados: uma flora inspirada em esp�cies de plantas e flores reais, mas feita com coloridas massas de modelar e pl�stico. Com cores vibrantes, estas pequenas mentiras se assemelham a frutos e vegetais verdadeiros, mas despertam estranheza e curiosidade, pois a primeira vista, n�o � �bvio o que � real e o que � inventado na paisagem. At� dia 12 de julho, uma retrospectiva do trabalho de Tsch�pe � mais calcada em fotografias e v�deos - pode ser vista na Galeria de Arte Laura Alvin no Rio de Janeiro. Ainda em 2009, a artista participa da Trienal do Centro Internacional de Fotografia, Nova York, e realiza uma mostra individual no Museu de Arte Kasama Nichido no Jap�o. Em 2008, a artista teve uma grande exposi��o individual no IMMA � Irish Museum of Modern Art em Dublin. [English] Fortes Vila�a is pleased to announce Janaina Tsch�pe�s third solo show, this time, in the Galp�o. Tsch�pe is bringing to Brazil highlights from her most recent production, including paintings, watercolors, drawings, photographs from her Botanica series, and a video from her Eclipse series, all shown here for the first time. On her huge canvas Wilt � six meters long by three meters high � and in her large watercolors, Tsch�pe flirts with abstraction and landscape. The forms, full of folds and concavities, expand in organic lines, revealing a precise balance between gestuality and detail. The artist creates moist environments resembling rainy places, like �forest fog.� Using a palette of purple, green, pink and blue hues, her artwork seem to be scenes of the same place, at different phases of the day. All the artworks in the show deal with the theme of landscape: in a more distanced way in the paintings and watercolors, and in a more intimist manner � with small �close-ups� � in the drawings and photographs. The colored-pencil drawings are made with light lines and beckon the viewer to come closer, in order to appreciate their minimal details and delicate chromatic relations. Tsch�pe points out that �in painting we have the freedom to prolong the forms to where we desire; with photography I have tried to repeat this experience.� In the photographs of the Botanica series, the artist uses real, natural scenes to which she adds invented details: a flower inspired in real plant species, but made of colored modeling compound and plastic. With vibrant colors, these small deceptions resemble true fruits and vegetables, but give provoke feelings of strangeness and curiosity, since at first sight it is not obvious what is real and what is invented in the landscape. Until 12 June, a retrospective of Tsch�pe�s work � centered more on photographs and videos � can be seen at Galeria de Arte Laura Alvin in Rio de Janeiro. Still in 2009, the artist will be participating at the Triennial of the International Center of Photography, New York, and will hold a solo show at Kasama Nichido Art Museum, in Japan. The 2008, the artist had a large solo show at IMMA � Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin. |
