Tommaso Corvi-Mora is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new photographic work by New York-based artist Anne Collier. Anne Collier's practice is centered around issues of identity, both on a personal level - through auto-biographical elements - and on more general terms, analysing portraiture within a spectrum of cultural references such as commercial photography, album covers and magazines. Her photographs often capture everyday objects presented in the most direct manner possible but charged with a strong emotional undertow, bringing to mind the photographic work of Richard Prince and Felix Gonzalez-Torres. Anne Collier graduated from UCLA in Los Angeles in 2001. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Marc Foxx Gallery, Los Angeles and Jack Hanley Gallery, San Francisco. Recent exhibitions include: "Anything You Want", Pump House Gallery, London; "Der Droste Effekt", Esther Schipper, Berlin; "Strange Magic", Luhring Augustine, New York and a forthcoming solo exhibition at Presentation House Gallery, Vancouver and Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 6pm. Please note: the gallery will remain closed from December 22nd to January 3rd. |
