Die Arbeiten von Peter K. Koch lassen sich am ehesten am Kreuzungspunkt von Pop, Minimal und Punk verorten. Vom Pop haben sie die kraftvolle Farbigkeit. Vom Minimal haben sie die klaren Strukturen und einfachen Formen. Vom Punk haben sie die Tendenz zu Aggressivität und Zerstörung.

Peter K. Koch schneidet Öffnungen in Flächen und Körper. Die Motive bewegen sich zwischen geometrischer Form, Piktogramm, Symbol und typografischem Element. Trotzdem verweigern sich die Arbeiten jeder sinnhaften Entschlüsselung. Es geht Peter K. Koch um die assoziative Kraft der freien Form, seine Arbeiten sind Forschungen auf dem Feld ungegenständlicher Phänomene.

Bei der Betrachtung muss man sich stets aufs Neue entscheiden, was man wahrnehmen möchte: das Geöffnete oder das Geschlossene, das Äußere oder das Innere, das Loch oder den Rand, den Raum oder die Fläche, die Komposition oder die Struktur, das Nichts oder das Etwas. Letztendlich handelt es sich um eine streng formalistisch-analytische Haltung.

The works by Peter K. Koch can be located at the intersection between Pop, Minimal, and Punk. The vigorous colours come from Pop. The clear structures and simple forms derive from Minimal. The tendency towards aggressiveness and destruction are based in Punk.

Peter K. Koch cuts openings into surfaces and bodies. The motifs range between geometric forms, pictograms, symbols and typographic elements. Nevertheless the works withhold any meaningful decipherment. His chief concern ist the associative energy coming from the free form. His works are investigations in the field of non-objective phenomenons.

Viewing the works, one repeatedly has to decide what to perceive: the open or the closed, the outer or the inner, the gap or the edge, the space or the surface, the composition or the structure, the nought or the something. Eventually it’s a strictly formalistic-analytic attitude.

From no to yes, from not to yet, from nothing to something.
