3. Skin (2003) 04:11. - Two individuals and the different language that each speaks overlap; speaking in two tongues and also about the silence in-between speaking.

4. & 5 Useless Landscape (2002), Infinite Loop
With this piece, I try to present more complex relationships between text and text, text and image, and in-betweens by using voice-dub and captions. The infinite loop suggests a complete circulation; however, the repetition makes the language more fragmented and individualized because it suggests more broken down narratives to the audience. There are gaps and disconnections and each existing and missing narratives creates links to other dimensions of the story.

6. She is a girl who speaks for herself (2004) 18:56.
One channel presents Speech Girl speaking about her speech and herself, and the other channel presents Dubbing Girl dubbing her voice for the other�s speech. Silence and pauses within Speech Girl�s �dialogue� are replaced by anxiety and the anticipation of Dubbing Girl. Even though Dubbing Girl is the one who is vocal most of the time, her presence is dependent on Dubbing Girl�s existence. The �dialogue� between the two characters question the subject and the object of speech, performing language, and the meaning of inserting/imposing one�s voice onto another�s.

Statement:
My work deals with unsynchronicity between image and text, speaking and spoken/written, representation and "reality," and languages and cultures. As a native Korean who has lived in the US for many years, I have been speaking between gaps and disconnections - especially between my body abd language.

The different ways to present "reality" and view cultural and racial elements in various cultures amaze me. Language as misrepresentation, especially the signification of naming, dubing, captioning and juxtaposition of text and images, is one of the many areas that I have been working with.
