Nicole Shimonek (born 1978) is a visual artist living and working in Winnipeg, Canada. She has a BFA (Hons) degree from the University of Manitoba; and Masters in Fine Arts degree from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London.
Her work has been included in a number of exhibitions and screenings both nationally and internationally. Notable exhibitions includes work at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (Canada), Everson Museum of Art (NY), Dover Arts Club (UK., Plug In ICA, Gallery 1C03 and Gallery 111 (Winnipeg). Her videos have screened at the Images Film Festival (Toronto), BBC Big Screens Experimental Shorts (UK), Camden Roundhouse (UK), Harbor front Festival (Toronto), Studio 303 (Montreal), Detroit Museum of New Art (USA), Prairie Scene (Ottawa) and Supermarket Art Fair (Sweden).
Nicole's practice is in drawing, sculpture, video and performance.
