Paul Graham has won the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2009. The Deutsche Börse Photography Prize is an internationally acclaimed award for contemporary photography, which has been given out by the Photographers' Gallery in London since 1996 to an artist, who made a significant and acclaimed contribution to the development of photography in the previous year. The Group Deutsche Börse has been the titling sponsor of the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize since 2005, which today is one of the most renowned international art prizes. The finalists of the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2009 were Paul Graham, Emily Jacir, Tod Papageorge and Taryn Simon. On the 25th of March 2009, the jury awarded Paul Graham in the Photographers’ Gallery in London with the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2009. The finalists will all together be exhibited in a group show at the Photographers’ Gallery from the 20th of February until the 12th of April 2009. Afterwards, the exhibition will be shown at C/O Berlin from the 29th of May until the 29th of July 2009. The opening will be held on the 28th of May from 7 pm. |
