Ex:Libris, is a scale model of the Harvard Club Library, in New York designed by McKim Mead and White. Within this room, a voice whispers a story about the locale and its history, mixed with my love of books. By sticking his/her head into this room, I hope the viewer becomes transported into a different time and place, both through the architectural model and the story being told.

I consider objects to exist as more than just things able to be seen, felt and perceived. I appreciate objects for their ability to act as containers in actuality, resembling handbags that can hold everyday items like lipstick, or, metaphorically, as in a book containing unlimited information and narratives. To me, these spaces are a succession of all that is inclusive, that is within the limits of the sky and beyond. I am interested in the nature of space, not the negative voids but rather the defined area that has the possibility to contain, like the repetitive interiors and exteriors of Russian Nestling dolls. As an artist I try to depict communication between people through the objects I make in much the same way that the written word can combine itself to become paragraphs, intern becoming a letter or a story to be distributed among friends or strangers. I like to think that these moments can be shared, either intentionally or completely by serendipity. I love the connections that can be made through objects. Through the medium of sculpture, I am hopeful that these stories and moments, which are not necessarily unique to myself, can be shared.
