In my sculpture and installation work, I investigate the behavioural and structural attributes of living organisms. I am interested in natural phenomena: evolution and change, processes of metamorphosis, destruction, and growth. Although my work is not strictly representational, I explore what I consider the most important potential strength of living organisms: the apparently unorganised, but complex forms that characterize the chaos of initiation and transformation, stages of becoming and even decay and devastation. My work also addresses animal behaviour in terms of procreation insofar as it expresses an organic striving for life.

Recently, I’ve tried to add another dimension to my sculpture, incorporating the effects of internal lighting. Electric light lets me animate the more currents of energy and a floating eroticism, creating sensuous textures and violent tensions. In this way, I attempt to capture the moment between struggle and achievement that constitutes the inner strength of living organisms
