I believe the act of paintings in the 21st century qualifies as a reference to the classical in tandem with my proclivity for the experimental and the tentative result in paintings, which hopefully invite or persuade the viewer into the magical act of wonderful wondering. For lack or other words these hybrid paintings are intensely negotiated equalizing the neutral space versus active space, and unifying elements to make the work integral. When painting—life does not get better.
