works. Within the dimensions of 8 ½ x 11 in, the piece is made of red thread sewn into Archive score paper with a sewing machine. IMAGE 4 – Woander was a site specific installation in which the production process was a performance work as well. The piece took two months to produce for 12 hours per weekend, and was done in front of PS122 Gallery in the spring of 2003.

The dimensions of the entire piece is 13 ft x 14 ft x 5 ft, and comprised of twine, cotton rope, and wood. The performance was video recorded and can be seen in an unedited version, or from an 8 minute edited version. – IMAGE 5 – Where is my Perpendicular is the title of my first self standing outdoor sculpture, located in Franconia Sculpture Park in Shafer, Minnesota. The piece was produced with funding from the Jerome Foundation last year (2003). The structure is made of pressure treated wood, corrugated fiberglass, hardware, paint and manilla rope. The dimensions of the entire piece is 15 ft 7 in x 11 ft 8 in x 12 ft. – IMAGE 6 – The video still is from a performance video called Where Are We, which was I executed collaboratively with two other artists during the Dumbo Arts Festival in the year 2000. The eight minute video captures the performance during an evening procession, and then for a full day of activity.

I build webs out of cordage that extend from walls, ceilings and floors, holding their own form. Through a personally developed process of looping and knotting, this physical language records an emotive response to the obscurity between communication and thought. Loops, curves, knots and ties are multiplied into a cocoon of complex form, with a balance of openness and density. I use various grades of string and rope, either keeping their manufactured color, or dyed to a desired hue.
