425 spools of thread, ball chain, clear acrylic sphere on stand (30” h x 21” w) Description: a life-sized rendering of da Vinci's Mona Lisa constructed from 425 spools of thread. When seen through a clear sphere, the thread spools condense into a recognizable image, conveying how little information the eyes and brain need. |
