The focus of my art is not on content but rather about form that represents aspects of the visual world encouraging viewers to look at it in a different way. There is no social narrative nor political or religious intent. Tension is created by distorting the perspective and having unclear distinction between foreground and the background. The emphasis is on the visual and physical object. A primary interest of mine is to find contemporary approaches to capture the essence of what I am painting. I am exploring the subtleties and complexities of lines, marks, color, and forms. How subtle changes of these elements can effect the outcome fascinates me. I am focused on creating provocative and visually stimulating paintings in which the viewers can immerse themselves and find new associations. I am experimenting with creating structure and movement in my work as well. Even though I work in a methodical manner by immersing myself in the art process my technique allows for spontaneity. I believe this makes the paintings more interesting. The viewer is encouraged to experience my work holistically; for that reason, I intentionally have no focal point in my paintings.
On Page 2 are my new 3D paintings.
