My art practice involves photography and site-specific interventions. The work further develops what could be considered as an interest in the relationship between man, nature and our surroundings. I use the landscape and directly interact with existing architecture and found objects as a way of a response to the man-made and the natural world.
'Monuments to the Past' focus on the documentation of overlooked man-made objects in the landscape and investigate the historical feel and sculptural aesthetic of these unseen objects in the natural world.
The work entitled 'The Shining' is an attempt to emphasise the romantic notions of the classical past and create a dialogue between various imported symbols and existing architecture. The introduction of unexpected foreign materials makes confusing sculptures which go beyond the immediate architectural means of a fake ancient temple. This site-specific intervention now exists only in photographs.
