Alison Berry’s practice explores the delights and absurdities of life. Whimsical and witty her work simultaneously invites serious consideration and reflection.

Through a range of media, broad themes are investigated such as the appeal of the unattainable, eternal recurrence and the co-existence of opposites. The unconventional way in which this subject matter is handled avoids grandiosity and instead the practice takes the form of an exploration in which laughing at oneself sometimes plays a part.
