In her work, Paz examines the �fragments of life� and analyzes the patterns of psychological and social behavior. The motivating force of her work is restlessness, curiosity and reflection. The focus of her work is mainly social examining ideas of identity and communication. Paz uses subjects and objects from her own surrounding, playing between imagination and reality. Sharon Paz was born in Israel, received a MFA from Hunter College. She now lives and works in Berlin & New York City. Paz took part in New Views: DUMBO residency, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, was a resident at Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in Maine, 2001 and has participated and exhibited in The Bronx Museum of Art's �Artist in the Marketplace� program. In 2003 Paz exhibited a one-person show in the Herzlyia Museum in Israel. She has exhibited extensively internationally in White Box Gallery, Artist Space, Pace Digital Gallery and JCCNY, in New York City, In Espace Huit Novembre Centre D'art, Paris, France and Peer Gallery, Israel. Her work has been screened at Thomas Erben Gallery, Art in General, and Anthology Film Archives all in New York City; Contemporary Art and Design Museum in San Jose, Costa Rica; and AB Gallery in Mexico City. numerous film and video festivals in Europe, Canada, Israel, and the United States including �CTRL [space]�, international/media/art award 2001 in ZKM, Germany.
