Lucia Pizzani was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1975, lived in NY between 2001 and 2006 and currently resides in London but still works in these three cities. Daugther of two prominent venezuelan artists, she had an early exposure to the arts, participating in video art pieces, dance and performances since her childhood. She did a BA in Mass Media Communications with a major in Visual Communications at the Catholic University Andr�s Bello (Caracas, Venezuela) and earned a certificate in Conservation Biology from The Center for Environmental Research and Conservation (CERC), Columbia University, New York, NY (2002).
Selected solo exhibitions include: Absent Portraits Signature Art Gallery Miami - La Carniceria Caracas (2007); Lucia Pizzani: Recent Works, Organic , Galeria 39, Caracas, Venezuela (2004); and Vestigios, Sala Mendoza, Caracas, (2003). Her work has appeared in group exhibitions internationally, including: III Queens Museum Biennale: Everything All At Once, Queens, NY (2006) , Identidades , Galer�a El Museo, Bogota, Colombia (2006), The Drop , Exit Art, New York, NY (2006); Boats, Islip Art Museum. Islip, New York, (2005), Venezueland , Galer�a Galou, Williamsburg, New York (2005), Scope Hamptons Featured artist Solar Gallery, South Hampton, NY (2005). She recently received the Second Prize at the IX National Saloon Jovenes con FIA 2006.
