currently work in different media including painting, drawings and sculpture. The subject matter of my work is to portray reality and the nature of the self from various perspectives. These perspectives manifest the effects of social, sexual, psychological, emotional and visual experiences (both real and imagined) on human relations. The interconnections of these indissoluble arenas often manifest a complex reality that alludes to the nature of the self in relation to contemporary social behaviors, conventions, perceptions, and ones search for meaning. In this realm of artistic reality, the notions of desire, solitude, memory, love, and aspects of the latter not always perceived in visual form are depicted. The situations portrayed also relate to issues of physical and emotional limitations, control and power abuse, and violence; all of which handicap human passions and interactions.
In its approach the work at times draws inspiration and relates closely to the language of contemporary writers, playwrights, and poets, particularly to the work of Samuel Beckett. Like many of Becketts characters, the figures in my work - are often constricted by their emotional and physical situations, memories, thoughts, and space. They are often only looking, sitting, or feeling, bound to the functions and control of their inner mechanisms and being, or outer experiences. Stylistically, images of the self in situations of interaction, solitude, and experiencing the dimension of time are often blurred, showing the ambiguous uncertainty and instability of reality. At times, there is a seemingly deliberate obsession with certain colors, images and faces, particular objects, and inner anatomical organs that constantly reappear, further accentuating the dimension of time and a more complex space and language
