My work stems from my everyday life (the people involved, friend, lovers, and sworn-bitter-enemies). I pull moments I share with others and I make work that tells a story. Being able to take directly from what is around me has helped create a connection between the viewer and me. I feel this connection is intimate and personal because viewing the work, to me, is like reading a page from my journal. The moments that I select to work from are usually the ones I would rather forget, a recent breakup, a really bad day, or the lose of a friend. I try and work after I have had some time to reflect on a situation to let it breathe. Nonetheless, my work comes from straight from my life which existed my journal before landing on any pieces of paper or vinyl. As an artist I feel in art there should always be the direct connection between the viewer, the art and the artist.
