‘Tissue’ was an installation in the Nohra Haime Gallery, NYC, of 14 life-size, handmade figures made out of black tissue paper and glue. The forms are reminiscent of tissue-paper party decorations gone seriously awry. Each figure measures 64 in x 15 in x approximately 15 in, echoing the silhouette of the artist's body. A majority of the figures are hung from the ceiling, while others are attached to the walls and folded into corners. The viewer is allowed towander amongst these three-dimensional shadows, the air currents created gently turn the hanging figures. The audience is confronted with exactly the same profile from all vantage points. Their omnipresence is both fixed and dynamic.
