5. TAMED NATURE
Immaculate Forest , Shopping , Your Private Garden, 2002. This project investigates the way we relate to nature in urban environments. Tamed Nature is a group of constructions that play with the idea of Nature as a consumable item. These constructions of ‘artificial nature’ combine the city dweller's desire to be close to the wilderness and his need for physical comfort. 6. A.R.D. ARTIFICIAL RETREAT DEVICES Lazydresstent , Forest Tent , Camouflagetent , Oceantent , 2001. A.R.D. (Artificial Retreat Devices) is a series of portable tents that are used to pacify the desire to get out of the urban environment. These portable shelters could be mounted and placed anywhere indoors or outdoors. Once inside, they provide a place for seclusion. Through color and sound each tent recalls a different association with nature, allowing the viewer to be somewhere else. |
